Introduction

Organisers of this year's show are delighted to be able to exhibit for the first time in Europe at a motor show, the original Pink Panther Car in addition to announcing the return of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The Robocop car will also be there reiterating what a great family day out the Motor show provides. You could even win your very own quad bike if you attend. With additional amusements, fairground rides and stalls the reasons for families to attend the show are even greater this year than in previous years.

The show will again feature hundreds of quality Historic and Modern Motor Vehicles, including Vintage, Veteran and Classic cars. Motor Cycles old and new, Customised cars, Super sports cars, and a special Americana display. Main dealers presentations will be there featuring all the very latest cars and of course lots of auto accessory displays. Commercial and military vehicles, live action stunt displays including car demonstrations, minibike displays, and childrens car rides on a special closed circuit within the showground will also feature. The show will also include many famous cars that have appeared on TV and in films. Back by popular demand for 2006 will be ad hoc parades of exhibiting vehicles around Southport's Town Centre on the Saturday, which has in previous years proven to be very popular.

Exhibitor vehicle drivers and their companions are encouraged to dress in period costumes appropriate to their vehicles. There will be prizes awarded by the Mayor of Sefton to the many different categories of vehicles including "car of the show" and "best dressed".

The Holiday resort of Southport on England's beautiful North West coast has a wealth of automotive heritage. It was the venue for many of the famous land speed record attempts in the 1920's on nearby Birkdale sands.` The famous Vulcan cars and commercial vehicles were built in Southport and the resort was the final destination for the International Motor Rally and Concourse de Elegance in 1928.
